Hey there, Statement Makers! I'm Symphony Speaks, the heart and soul behind Urban Culture Apparel, and I'm beyond excited to share my journey with you.
Originally hailing from the vibrant streets of New Orleans, my roots run deep in a city that breathes culture and resilience. However, life had a different plan for me in 2005 when Hurricane Katrina hit, forcing my family to uproot and find refuge in Texas. Despite the challenges, I finished high school and took my dreams to college.
With an outspoken personality and an unapologetic attitude, I realized that fashion could be a powerful tool for self-expression. It was this realization that birthed Urban Culture Apparel, a brand where style meets the language of the heart.
My educational journey includes a bachelor's degree in Mass Communications and focus on broadcast journalism from Prairie View A&M University.
But I didn't stop there— I pursued a Master's Degree in Digital Media and Professional Communications, diving deeper into the world of storytelling through various mediums.
I launched Urban Culture Apparel in on December 1, 2017 while starting grad school, interning at KPRC Channel 2 in Houston, and working at Nike as a sales associate. All while building my media career by covering events in Houston. 2017 was a busy year for me! 
In 2021, I made the decision to temporarily close UCA to pivot and restructure the brand. What was supposed to be a two month hiatus - turned into two years! While working diligently on the UCA rebrand, I found a great studio space and moved my business out of my apartment - can somebody say "God Did!" I finally relaunched on December 1, 2023, six years to-the-date of my initial launch date!
Beyond the threads of Urban Culture Apparel, my aspirations reach for the stars. I dream of owning a print and digital magazine that celebrates the success stories of the Black Community, uplifting voices and sharing narratives that inspire.
Urban Culture Apparel is more than just a clothing brand; it's a canvas for non-verbal communication, where each piece tells a story without uttering a word. My mission is to merge the worlds of fashion and self-expression, making a statement that resonates with authenticity and power.
